July 21, 2026 Borough Council Meeting Minutes
The Port Matilda Borough Council held its regular meeting on July 21, 2026, at the Borough Building.
Meeting Highlights
During the meeting, Council discussed several community and Borough matters, including:
Stormwater Concerns: A resident of W. Water Street addressed Council regarding increased stormwater issues on his property. Borough representatives will meet with the resident to discuss the matter further.
Community Park Flea Market: A proposal was presented to hold a flea market at Community Park. Council requested that a more detailed plan be presented at the next meeting.
Emergency Preparedness: Concerns were raised regarding the Borough's Emergency Preparedness Plan and how emergency information is communicated to residents. Information may be included in an upcoming Borough newsletter.
Borough Website: An update was provided that the new Borough website had been completed and was awaiting the approved domain name before launch.
Sewer System: The Borough's sewer operation was reported to be operating normally, and a grant application is being pursued to update the UV system.
PVC Pipe Litigation: Council approved pursuing participation in the PVC Pipe Antitrust Litigation.
Suicide Prevention Resolution: Council adopted the Suicide Prevention Proclamation as Resolution No. 2026-8.
Maintenance: Council reviewed a list of Borough signs needing replacement and requested additional information regarding the materials needed to complete the work.
