Stay up to date with the latest news and upcoming events in Port Matilda Borough. This newsletter welcomes newly elected Borough officials, announces a zoning officer opening, highlights upcoming community events, and shares important reminders for Borough residents.
Welcome and Thank You
Port Matilda Borough Council extends its appreciation to Ida Lively and Mark Belinda for their service as Mayor and Councilman, respectively. Their dedication and contributions to the Borough are sincerely appreciated.
The Borough also welcomes Mayor Greg Harpster and Councilman Jon Rockey and looks forward to their service to the community.
Zoning Officer Needed
Port Matilda Borough is accepting applications for a part-time Zoning Officer.
This paid position reports directly to Borough Council and is filled on an as-needed basis.
How to Apply
Please submit a resume to the Borough Office during normal business hours.
Until the position is filled, zoning permit applications and zoning questions should continue to be directed to Lynn Snyder at (814) 222-3050.
Riff Raff Day
Saturday, June 13, 2026
8:00 a.m. – Noon
Residents are invited to participate in the Borough's annual Riff Raff Day.
Please note:
You must be a Port Matilda Borough resident.
Items must be delivered to Community Park on the day of the event.

Children ages 15 and younger are invited to participate.
Registration begins at 12:00 p.m.
Fishing runs from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Bald Eagle Creek Trout Tournament
The Bald Eagle Creek Trout Tournament will be held on April 11–12, 2026.
Additional event information is available through the Bald Eagle Sportsman's Club.

A Memorial Day Service will be held:

Centre County 911 and the Centre County Emergency Management Agency encourage residents to enroll in ALERTCentre, a free emergency notification service.
Subscribers can receive alerts regarding:

Shelter-in-place notices
Emergency shelters
Severe weather alerts
Enrollment is free and voluntary.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Centre County will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on:
April 24–25, 2026

Shoe Donation Drive
Scouting America Troop 375 is collecting gently worn, used, and new shoes to help raise funds.
Donations may be dropped off at the Borough Office during regular office hours through April 30, 2026.

2026 Dog Licenses are available for purchase at the Port Matilda Borough Office.
