Elections
The Municipal Primary will be held on May 20, 2025. Residents are reminded to vote.
American Legion Easter Egg Hunt
Wilson Patton Post 536 will host the Port Matilda Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Port Matilda American Legion.
Registration will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The egg hunt will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Children’s Fishing Derby
The Children’s Fishing Derby will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Port Matilda Community Park.
Registration begins at noon, and fishing will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event is free for children ages 15 and younger.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection
The Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority will hold a household hazardous waste collection event on April 25 and 26, 2025.
Accepted items include:
Insecticides
Weed killers
Cleaners and poisons
Corrosive and flammable materials
CFL and fluorescent bulbs
Pool chemicals
Oil-based paints
Antifreeze
Latex paint, batteries, explosives, motor oil, medication and ammunition will not be accepted.
Registration is available through the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority or by calling 814-238-7005.
Centennial Celebration
Port Matilda will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025.
The Borough is planning a Centennial Celebration for Sunday, September 21, 2025. Borough Council is seeking residents and representatives from local businesses, organizations and churches to help plan the celebration.
Centennial Planning Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Borough office.

Community Yard Sale
The Community Yard Sale will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Riff Raff Day
Riff Raff Day will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Community Park.
Fireworks Reminder
Residents are reminded that fireworks may generally only be discharged until 10:00 p.m., except on New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July.
Fireworks-related problems should be reported to the Pennsylvania State Police non-emergency number.
2025 Dog Licenses
2025 dog licenses are available at the Port Matilda Borough Office.
